Hi, I’m Jessica.
Pizza lover. INT/FJ. Designer.
Growing up my two main passions were art and science. In school, you could find me flexing my creative muscles in art or writing classes, as well as exploring my analytical side by running experiments as a research assistant. At university, I chose to focus on the latter and achieved a degree in psychology, but continued my love affair with art and design. A few years later I found myself completing graphic design projects at the request of friends and family, and ultimately founded a niche business designing wedding and event stationery. In addition to graphic design, I was continually learning all I could about sales and marketing, web design, building client relationships, project management, and so much more.
After a decade as a solo business owner, I began to crave a new challenge. A friend working in web development suggested I look into the tech industry, specifically User Experience Design. Several months later I was ecstatic to learn that out of over several hundred applicants, I was one of 160 that had been accepted into the Winter 2019 cohort of CoderGirl St. Louis, a division of LaunchCode. I graduated from the UX learning track in July 2019 and then began my independent project track and portfolio building. Early in 2023, I decided to expand my skill set further and returned to LaunchCode for a year-long Web Development program. I am so excited to begin a new career that combines my two great passions: design and human behavior.
Outside of work, you can find me watching a Marvel movie, listening to a true crime podcast, hiking a nearby trail, or planning my next road trip. I also enjoy making baked goods, gardening, and floral design.
